BLOGMAS – DAY 21 – December Favourites

Hey guys,

Welcome to the 21st day of my blogmas! Only 4 days left! Today’s post is going to be my favourite products from this month!

So let’s get started!

Body care

Sleepy, mask of magnamity, snow fair body conditioner from Lush and VeeBeautyLdn’s eyelash and eyebrow serum and two lip balms. I love using all of these, definitely would recommend for you guys to try it out!

The body scrub by what’s in it for me, smells edible and leaves your skin feeling incredible! (Haha rhymes)

Fragrance

So fragrance were kind enough to gift me with these beauties at the Blogosphere Christmas festival last weekend and they all smell so lovely! So affordable and pretty! You can purchase these from most boots stores and would make great stocking fillers!

Face mask

Im loving this face mask at the moment! You can check out my full review on L’Oréal’s pure clay masks here.

Makeup

This is a recent buy of mine from Urban Decay and it is the Heavy Metal palette. Don’t let this picture fool you, this palette is HUGE well.. in comparison to their other palettes. I swatched it in the shop and bought it then and there that’s how much I loved it! Will do some looks using it soon!

Hair care

I was also luckily enough to be gifted these at the Blogosphere Christmas festival too by Ogx! I LOVE their hair products! Been using their shampoo and conditioners for maybe 2 years now, my hair definitely thanks me for it!

Books

This is my favourite book of this month! I love it! Check out my review for it here.

Netflix

These are my two favourite series at the moment, not just for this month but they’re what I’m watching this month! If you haven’t seen either or any of them I definitely suggest that you should!!

What is your favourite product of this month?

Thank you for reading today’s post, if you missed yesterday’s post you can check it out here.

Love, Jess x

My first ever iPod, I had saved up for it for months (before I had a job) and I had the right amount of money for it on Christmas Eve but my dad insisted the shops would be waaaay too busy, and that I should wait till after Christmas. BLOGMAS – DAY 19 – Things to do in London at Christmas

Hey guys,

Today is the 19th day of my blogmas and I can’t believe how fast it’s gone!

I hope you’re all having a lovely Tuesday so far!

It’s amazing how much more there is to do during Christmas time, of course this depends on where you live but if you’re like me and live in London you’ll know there is SO much to do! And I never seem to be able to do it all in one year! By the end of the season I’m always saying to myself “I will make sure that I do that next Christmas” and the list in my head just gets longer and longer….

So let’s get started!

Here are some things that you can do in London at Christmas time:

Winter Wonderland– this is my favourite place to visit at Christmas time! If you’ve never been but live close enough too then you definitely should! There’s so many things to do and see!

Here are some pictures from when I went earlier this month.

Carnaby Street – I’ve only been here once but I loved it! It’s more carnival style than Christmassy but is so beautiful, so many colours! Here are some pictures from when I went.

  • Christmas Markets – these are the BEST at Christmas time! They help you feel festive and have such cute and unique little gifts that are good for yourself or others. There are quite a few Christmas markets in London, here are the ones that I know of:
  • winter wonderland
  • south bank
  • Leicester Square
  • North Greenwich

Picture above: Leicester Square Christmas Market

Kew Garden Christmas Lights – I’m actually going here tomorrow with Graham, can’t wait! Keep your eyes peeled out on my Instagram to see pictures of it!

Oxford Street Lights – you are bound to see the Christmas lights at Oxford Street at least once if you live in London! This year they have used angles which is really sweet and pretty!

Ice skating – whether this be at Somerset house, winter wonderland, Queensway or just any of those pop up ice rinks; ice skating is a must do activity in the winter! You’re already wrapped up so you might as well!

Of course there are lots of other things to do during Christmas time in London, there are websites that show events that are going on in London all you have to do is google!

What is your favourite thing to do at Christmas time?

If you missed yesterday’s post you can check it out here

BLOGMAS – DAY 18 – Christmas treats

Hey guys,

Welcome to day 18 of my Blogmas! I hope you’re enjoying it so far!

Today’s post is a different one for me as it’s food related and I’ve never done one like this before so fingers crossed!

Correct me if I’m wrong but one of the best parts of Christmas is eating! That includes of course the Christmas dinner itself but also chocolates and baked goodies all through December. And of course you can buy these goodies from a coffee shop, bakery or your local supermarket but nothing is more satisfying (and fun) than making them yourself!

This year I haven’t done much baking as such at home but have done at work with the children! We have made snowmen banana cake, star jam sandwiches and shortbread cookies decorated as snowflakes; I think I enjoyed it more than the kids did! (Oops)

I absolutely love Pinterest for recipes for treats such as these, here are a few of my favourites down below:

Brownie Christmas Trees

Reindeer Rice Krispies

Christmas covered strawberries Christmas trees

White chocolate dipped ginger cookies

There are so many different ideas out there! Just google or Pinterest it and you’ll find so many good ideas!

Have you done any Christmas baking this year? If yes, what did you bake?

If you missed yesterday’s post check it out here.

Love, Jess x

BLOGMAS – DAY 17 – Favourite parts of 2017

Hey guys,

Welcome to my 17th Blogmas post and happy Sunday!

In today’s post I will be reflecting on the past year and the best parts of it.

2017 wasn’t a perfect year and it has had its downs but I prefer to focus on the positive parts. Christmas is such a busy time but I also think it’s the right time to have some down time to reflect, which is what I done for this post.

So here are my favourite parts of 2017:

• Starting a new relationship with Graham. I can’t say meeting Graham cos I met him in 2016, but since us starting our relationship I’ve never felt happier. I’m not going to go into all the soppy details cos he knows exactly why he makes me happy.

• Starting my new job at the school, since working here I’ve realised you don’t have to be stressed at your job and you can have fun! I love the people I work with and I love what I do, 2017 wouldn’t of been nearly as good if I didn’t get this job.

• Starting this blog is another big favourite. Thanks to having a blog I’ve met some amazing people who are so kind and lovely and have helped me so much even without realising it.

• The gigs I went to this year, I haven’t got the best memory but to the best of my memory I’m sure that I’ve seen all time low, you me at six, Ed Sheeran and Sean Paul this year as well as going to the summertime ball.

• Going to Cyprus with my best friend and her parents. I love going on holiday and the weather was so nice, we did loads of nice things and made some wonderful memories.

• Going to Bournemouth and Brighton with Graham. Those two little trips made big memories.

• Going to the Harry Potter Studio Tour because I LOVE Harry Potter and it was a truly magical experience which I’m going to relive next week yay! Check out my post on my experience here.

And that is it! I hope you’ve enjoyed reading this as much as I’ve enjoyed writing it!

If you missed yesterday’s post you can check it out here.

What is your favourite part of this year?

Love, Jess x

BLOGMAS – DAY 11 – What Christmas means to me

Hey guys,

Christmas has a special meaning to a lot of people but a lot of people like it for many different reasons.

What it means to me

Christmas is my favourite time of year and to me it means spending time with those close to me (friends, family… etc). Relaxing, watching Christmas movies, going Christmas shopping. Also about giving back to those who mean a lot to me to show my appreciation and gratitude. I also spend this time reflect on all that’s happened in the past year and how I want things to go in the next year!

My favourite things about Christmas
  1. I am a huge chocolate lover so of course the excuse to eat more of it would make me very happy! When I was little I used to have two advent calendars (one for the morning and one for the afternoon
  2. Going to visit the Christmas markets and winter wonderland. Not only are Christmas markets probably the most instagramable thing, they’re often filled with the best atmosphere as every one is getting into the festive spirit! Winter wonderland is also one of my most favourite things as it has so much to do and can appeal to nearly everyone! It’s become a new tradition that I have to go there every year at Christmas time!
  3. Watching Christmas movies all snuggled up with a hot drink and listening to the Christmas songs, keeps my festive spirit sky high!
What Christmas means to others

Sophie “Christmas to me means spending time with people who you care about, taking some time out for yourself to be festive and enjoy the season, and give to others wherever you can”

Bexa “Christmas is all about family, friends, food & fun! I love that it is a season for giving, spreading love, joy & making people happy! It’s such a special and memorable time of year, it’s brilliant!”

Lise “Christmas for me is a season of being selfless and paying some extra attention to those close to you and others who need a little something to get through the holidays. I love volunteering and giving gifts and enjoying the looks on people’s faces afterwards.”

Rebecca “Christmas is seeing people’s faces light up, eating delicious food, de-stressing the mind and most importantly giving to others. I love spending time with all my family and doing the same thing at Christmas we’ve done year in year out.”

Scandi Lifestyle “Christmas is about slowing down after another year has past, spend time with family and friends and just enjoy yourself.”

Jenny “To me it means spending quality time with family as I’ve grown up and realised it’s not all about the presents. It’s about spending quality time with family and enjoying the food and family time.”

Angela “To me it’s all about getting to decorate your house all pretty and cozy, taking the time to watch movies with my boyfriend on the couch with a cozy blanket and having Christmas dinner with the whole family! I just love the concept of kids running around playing and the adults sitting on the table talking…I also love that you get to do a lot of baking!”

Shrina “Family time, being with the ones you love and the start of making new memories”

It’s lovely to hear everyone’s different meanings as everyone’s reasons are so different and unique.

BLOGMAS – DAY 6 – My Christmas traditions

Hey guys,

Happy Wednesday! We’re already halfway through the week woohoo!

Today’s Blogmas post is going to be on my Christmas traditions, if you missed yesterday’s post you can check it out here.

When I initially thought of this idea I thought I had more traditions than I actually do, so it may be a little brief! But I guess it’s more about the quality of the traditions than the quantity, right?

So let’s get started, my Christmas traditions are:

• Spending a day with my parents putting up Christmas decorations (spoke in more detail in yesterday’s post)

• 12 days of chocolate- my dad used to hide 12 chocolate angels on my Christmas tree and on the 12 days leading up to Christmas I was allowed to eat one piece of chocolate. They used to tell me that fairies put them on the tree for me. (Definitely going to do this for my future children)

• Opening a present on Christmas Eve, me and my mum and dad used to all sit together and would choose one present to open (we weren’t allowed to choose the big ones)

• Box of chocolates, mostly heroes or celebrations on the whole month of December. We would snack on them when watching Christmas movies. It was so cute

• Having our Christmas meal all together, with crackers of course!

• On Christmas Day after opening presents, we sit down and watch a Christmas movie that’s normally on ITV1 together then my mum starts cooking and me and my dad watch another movie together

• When I was younger my parents would bring me to Butlins, which is like a holiday camp/park (sort of) which is great for children! I used to love going there

• We always would go see a pantomime, I used to love it so much!

That’s all of them! (I double checked with my dad) you may have noticed that I used past tense in some of the traditions as I no longer do some of them now as I’ve gotten older and the relationship with my parents has changed dramatically.

I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s posts and can relate to some of my traditions!

Please leave a comment on what your traditions are, I’d love to hear about them!

Love, Jess x
